MENTORING WITH HEART
East Mills Schools and the Malvern/Nishna Valley community, have participated in a mentoring program for five years. Mentors from the high school and community work with students from Chantry Elementary and East Mills Middle School. Mentors at the high school must by at least 16 years of age. To serve as a community mentor, the age of 18 is appropriate. Mentoring at the high school age involves a commitment of at least one hour per week, meeting in the school setting. Student safety is a priority, involving only a short drive to Chantry Elementary. Community mentors set up a flexible schedule and do a variety of activities with their mentees. We are unable to provide mentors for the number of mentees that we have. Please volunteer. Both high school and community mentors are needed.
