Districts Meet to Discuss Iowa Core Curriculum

The Malvern and Nishna Valley faculties met recently to review offerings in both districts and discuss continuity between grade levels and buildings. Several weeks ago teachers were asked to list ways the community, parents and students are served, such as conferences, newspaper, community presenters, field trips, Reading Recovery and school nurses, to name just a few. There were dozens of listings under each heading. The teachers' goal was to identify as many of the ways our districts connect with each of the groups and discover the similarities and diffferences between the schools, grades and buildings.
